Religious statue of Saint Jerome. Born 350 Deceased, 420 Jerome was highly literate and was appointed secretary to Pope Damasus at an early age. He was a biblical scholar whose most important work was a translation of the Bible into Latin. He went to the Holy Land in 385 and settled in Bethlehem in 386 where he remained for a number of years. He lived to be quite elderly, 70 years was a very long life in the 4th century. St. Jerome's feast day is September 30th. Made of resin and hand painted.
