The Maid In The Mud GARDEN SPRITE is a life-size sandstone replica of one of the many such sculptures designed by Wright, and sculptured by Alfonzo Ianelli, that adorned the walls of Midway Gardens, Chicago, Illinois, (1913) This magnificent statue will be the talking point of any project that incorporates this piece in the design. Early in 1998, Nichols Bros was granted a license by the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation®, to re-produce Garden Urns and Statuary designed by Mr. Wright. These pieces are faithfully re-produced from the original designs, and in some cases are scaled up or down, to fit many settings, large or small. We have re-produced planters, in multiple sizes, from The Frank Lloyd Wright Residence, in Oak Park, Illinois, The Frank Lloyd Wright Studio, also in Oak Park, The Henry J. Allen Residence, in Wichita, Kansas, The Frederick C. Robie Residence, in Hyde Park, Illinois, and The Burton J. Westcott Residence, in Springfield, Ohio. We have also re-produced two of the life-size “Sprites”, designed by Mr. Wright, and sculptured by Alfonzo Ianelli, for the Midway Gardens project, in Chicago. These magnificent replicas are also hand-cast in sandstone, and will be a focal point for any setting. All of our sandstone products are hand-cast, using a dry mix technique, resulting in a traditional sandstone look and feel, which is not achievable with poured concrete products. All products are covered by our standard 10-year warranty against manufacturing defects, including freeze/thaw damage. These products develop a rich patina, that simply gets better with age.
