La Pieta the original sculpts of the Virgin Mary grieving the loss of Jesus were created in Germany. This particular La Pieta or "The Pity", depicts Mary standing over her Son after His descent from the cross. It is one of many representations of this moment. This one is cast in a stone and resin mixture and is hand finished to look like carved finish.
